Jeep sentenced to pay compensation

In the case of motorhomes, many Fiat vehicles are affected, as the Fiat Ducato serves as the base vehicle; however, other Fiat models are also affected.

The Cottbus Regional Court has now ordered Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (now: Stellantis) to pay EUR 20,262.74 in damages in accordance with Section 826 of the German Civil Code (BGB) in the diesel emissions scandal. The judgment relates to the Renegade vehicle model of the of the subsidiary company Jeep.

Illegal defeat devices were allegedly installed in the vehicle in question. Fiat's lawyers did not dispute the allegations.

It is worth noting that the Italian authority responsible for type approval did not issue a ruling; however, this was not relevant for the German court.
